World Environment Day Celebration

CLASS/SECTION : Pre-Primary – Grade VIII

EVENT DATE : 5th June 2023

EVENT TITLE : World Environment Day Celebration

EVENT BRIEF :

World Environment Day is celebrated to foster a sense of environmental stewardship, inspire action, and empower students to become responsible global citizens who actively contribute to a sustainable future. It is a great way to raise awareness about environmental issues, promote sustainable practices, and instil a sense of responsibility towards the planet.

BGS NPS Bannerghatta initiated a specific theme for the World Environment Day which was “Beat Plastic Pollution” and worked towards it by organising a special assembly dedicated to the theme. An awareness campaign was organised by students of Grade VI – VIII where the students met environmental experts, conservationists and representatives from local environmental organisations at Bannerghatta National Park while spreading awareness about the environmental issues. Twenty five saplings were planted by the students and staff of BGS NPS Bannerghatta as our contribution to saving our environment and mother nature. Various inhouse awareness campaigns leading up to World Environment Day were conducted through CCA and Class Activities  that involved poster-making, essay writing etc. centred around environmental themes. Students were encouraged to express their thoughts, ideas, and solutions for environmental challenges through creative mediums.
