Layers of Soil
Our digestive system is a sophisticated machine that absorbs the food we eat and transforms it into energy and nutrients. We chew our food to break it into smaller pieces. What do you think happens to the food particles? Although we chew the food in our mouth how do you think the rest of our body gets energy? As a part of learning to answer all these questions students of Grade 4A were asked to make a model of digestive system and describe the different stages of digestion. This activity helped the students understand that it is crucial to replicate or mimic the human digestive system closely in model systems to have the food digestion-related data as accurate as possible.
